Halar® Characteristics
This material is strong and highly impact-resistant. Halar® ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene offers excellent electrical properties, low moisture absorption and temperature insensitivity. (Its use range spans from cryogenic to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.)
Virtually impervious to most common corrosive chemicals, Halar® also shows extremely low permeability to liquids, gases and vapors. This makes it a good choice for high-purity processing components for the chemical and semi-conductor industries.
Halar® is an ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE) thermoplastic material. Characteristics include:
- Flame- and impact-resistant
- Low permeability
- Corrosion-resistant
- Broad service use temperature range
Applications for Halar®
- Semiconductor process equipment
- Chemical storage and fluid handling
- Fire-safe components
- Wire and cable insulation
