Acetal Characteristics

Acetal is an easy-to-machine, general purpose engineering plastic that has excellent dimensional stability. It is rigid, strong and has a low coefficient of friction against metals, other acetals and plastics. Its superior creep resistance makes acetal a good choice when dimensional stability is needed. Delrin® is a trade name of a homopolymer acetal. (A homopolymer is a polymer made from many copies of a single repeating unit.)

Acetal’s other benefits include low water absorption, good electrical properties, resistance to fatigue and organic solvents, and outstanding wear characteristics.
