Lexan® Polycarbonate Characteristics
Polycarbonate has outstanding impact resistance over a wide temperature range as well as fairly good heat resistance. Lexan® offers an excellent combination of toughness, dimensional stability and heat and flame resistance. Creep resistance is also excellent across a broad temperature range. This thermoplastic material is easily machined and can be cold formed as well. It is available in clear and color. Because of its many advantages, Lexan® is a good choice for many applications. Characteristics include:
- Impact and temperature resistance
Good dimensional stability
- Self-extinguishing
- Exceptional clarity and light transmission
- Excellent electrical insulation
Applications for Lexan®
- Electrical appliances
- Medical equipment components
- Outdoor signs
- Safety face-shields
- Storage modules
- Communications equipment
- Business machines
- Aircraft components
