Acrylic Characteristics

This lightweight thermoplastic is an effective glass alternative with thermal insulation properties.  It is known for its attractive glossy surface that is available in clear or nearly any color and in transparent, translucent and opaque options. Most colors can be formulated to ensure durability for long-term outdoor use.

Acrylic withstands years of exposure to the elements and even corrosive atmospheres without losing its transparency, gloss or dimensional shape. It also will not darken or deteriorate from exposure to fluorescent light.

Acrylic has good impact and chemical resistance. It can withstand high stresses for short periods and is one of the most scratch-resistant thermoplastics.

The thermoplastic material is a polymerization of acrylic esters. Characteristics include:

  • Excellent clarity
