Polybenzimidazole Characteristics

Celazole® PBI (polybenzimidazole) is a fully aromatic heterocyclic thermoplastic polymer that provides the ultimate in thermal mechanical properties and sets the standard for engineering polymer performance. Characterized by its 427°C glass transition temperature, high strength and broad chemical resistance, it is meant for use in extreme environments.

here to help 200Celazole® PBI is the ideal performance polymer for applications in demanding conditions: high temperatures, harsh chemicals, plasma environments and applications where high strength and wear resistance are important.

PBI powder can be compression-molded to produce the highest performing base grade – U-60 shapes for machining into PBI parts.

Compounds of PBI with polyaryletherketones (either PEEK or PEKK) are offered as T-Series pellets for injection molding and extrusion.

Solutions of PBI are offered for producing hollow fiber membranes and flat sheet membranes, and for casting films or coating metal.
