Polyphenylene Oxide Characteristics
Polyphenylene oxide, made under the Noryl® brand, is easily machined thermoplastic that is a smart choice for many applications. Noryl® is a high-performance, cost-effective material with good impact resistance and low moisture absorption. NOTE: This material is not resistant to petroleum products.
Noryl® offers dimensional stability and strength even at high temperatures (up to 230 degrees Fahrenheit continuous use) and meets UL 94V-O requirements. It also offers excellent electrical properties over a wide frequency range. Characteristics include:
Low moisture absorption
- Heat resistant to 265° F
- Cost-effective
- Good electrical insulating properties
- Long-term dimensional stability
- Superior impact strength
Applications for Noryl®
- Liquid handling equipment
- Telecommunications
- Appliances
- Electrical insulators and components
- Medical components
