Dielectric Manufacturing machines a variety of grades/types of stainless steel. The various alloys have different properties, but all contain at least 10.5 percent chromium.
Stainless steels are basically categorized as:
- Austenitic stainless steel
- Ferritic stainless steel
- Martensitic stainless steel
- Duplex stainless steel (ferritic and martensitic mix)
- Precipitation Hardenable stainless steels
Austenitic is the most common type of stainless steel – the most ductile and the most corrosion-resistant. Its chromium content of 18 percent increases its corrosion resistance.
These stainless steels are not magnetic. They have high thermal conductivity.
